Announces Complete Lockdown in Several Parts of state for 3 4 days
Tamil
Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami declared on Friday four days of full
lockdown in many parts of the state, including Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore.
The
full lockout in Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore will take effect from April 26
to April 29 and from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
CM Palaniswami has declared a
3-day full lockout in Salem and Tiruppur from April 26-April 28 from 6 a.m.-9
p.m.
"Amma canteen and ATM
systems may stay available during the lock-down. Government offices and banks
will have just 33% strength and other critical resources, such as secretarial
personnel, sanitation workers and health workers, police, revenue, and disaster
management, EB, Aavin and local government, and drinking water facilities will
operate.
During the lockdown, all
shops, except medical stores and pharmacy, will remain close. Food distribution
and medical facilities should also work to prevent the spread of the novel
coronavirus across the whole lockout.
