TN eases the lockout in
non-containment areas from Monday. On Saturday, the TN Government eases the
lockout in non-containment areas in all regions from Monday. Giving a lot of
ease to the industries that were clamoring to restart operations, the State
allowed them to restart operations on 6 May. In the isolation areas, though,
the lockout will continue to be enforced with certain restrictions. Official
sources said that TASMAC shops would stay closed in the state for now

Decisions in this regard were
taken at the meeting of the Cabinet on Saturday. Chief Minister Edappadi K
Palaniswami said in a statement here, "The district collectors and the
Chennai Corporation Commissioner have been advised to obey the guidance and
make arrangements to enable the industries to work as of May 6. He said the
government will continue to track the spread of coronavirus infection, and
further relaxation will come when and when the level of infection dropped.

Stating the schools,
universities, teaching centers, academic institutions and all other educational
services should remain closed until further instructions have been given, the
CM added that public prayers and all religious events should remain barred.
Business timings for shops selling basic products have been modified. Over the
same manner, hotels would be permitted to operate with only take-away services.

The State Government also
introduced many relaxations, including the reinstatement of business activities
in non-containment areas.
